Building Trust in AI: Why FolkTech AI Refuses to Cut Corners

I spent my life in rooms where you do not hide a mistake. You do not ship an update later. You get it right or people get hurt. When lives are on the line, transparency is not a feature. It is a requirement. Most AI still says trust us.
The black box: hidden logic, mystery sources, no accountability. We are asked to trust that with health, privacy, and companies.
Real transparency is traceable decisions, auditable data, and user control. If you cannot run it without their servers, you do not control it.
Cloud-dependent AI is surveillance by design. Queries logged, conversations trained, files analyzed, usage monetized. They call it improving the service. Local-first ends the pipeline they sell.
